I am an Oriental Medicine Doctor and Acupuncture Physician licensed by the state of Florida and
Board Certified by NCCAOM (National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine) and an Access BARS Facilitator.
My alternative medicine interest started around the time of the World Trade Center catastrophe. After this tragedy, I realized
the world needed more healers. I then started studying and became certified in reflexology – the science/art that every
organ and system in your body is reflected in your foot, hand and ear. During my training, I noticed that we were working
with acupuncture points on both the foot and hand and realized I needed to take my education and drive it the next level and
become an acupuncture and Chinese medicine practitioner.
At the beginning of my acupuncture training, I broke both
bones in my lower right leg. I then experienced the healing powers of Chinese medicine first hand. Through proactive Chinese
medicine therapy and acupuncture treatments, I healed faster and cleaner than with western medicine alone.
A few
years later, I had to have my left shoulder reconstructed due to a motorcycle accident. During my physical therapy, I again
used proactive acupuncture treatments and included herbal medicine as well. My accelerated recovery rate went so well, two
weeks ahead of schedule, that the doctorial candidate doing a clinical rotation there used my case for her thesis.
I graduated from Florida College of Integrative Medicine and earned a B.S. in Public Health Studies and an M.S. in Oriental
Medicine. My clinical and personal experiences allow me to see both the practitioner and patient sides of this wonderful medicine.
This allows me to be a highly effective practitioner empathizing and understanding the patient’s ailments.
